The Next Chapter

Linen Dresses.jpg

James & I have loved being that special go to place to get that perfect gift, dress or piece of fine art for you or someone you love. It means a lot to us, which is why I want to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you for another fantastic season! We love what we do and will continue to aspire to ARTFUL LIVING!

We’ve made some big changes this year. 2018 and 2019 have been all about risk taking and seeing the bigger picture! James was able join the Amanda James Gallery full time and expand our business offering our clients gorgeous custom framing. In addition to all he does at the gallery he has found the time to expand his photography portfolio. If you have not had a chance to see his photography I urge you to do so, it’s pure magic. The best place to see his current work is Instagram @james_knill or his website www.JamesKnill.com.

As for me, I’ve had the great pleasure to express my artistic voice in a variety of mediums. This year I have created several collections of hand painted pottery, one of a kind textiles both hand painted and printed, a super special sparkly collection of earrings and crowns, bedazzled and feathered toy animals, and constructed outrageous fantasy masks. I’m filled with great pride and satisfaction having been able to see so many beautiful projects to their conclusion. After a lot of back and forth, I have finally made some headway in my clothing line. I have a lot of fun dresses, wrap skirts, t-shirts and kaftans! The best so far is a new bohemian gown collection. Designing clothing is tough with equal consideration to proportions, fit and style! It has taken me a full year to get where I am but I can’t wait to reveal what I’ve been up to!

Aside from my fashion work, my other passion is painting and drawing. I continue to explore my observations and viewpoint in my black and white portrait work. These works of art portray another aspect of my creativity that help me to achieve an essential balance. I have put a collection of "The Women" artworks into a beautifully designed coffee table book. Each copy has an original signed and numbered drawing in the front. You can always email me for details! I plan to have it up on the site as soon as possible but it’s been a struggle to keep up with everything. A good problem to have, but one I hope to fix as soon as possible.

This all brings me to the summer:

We are moving the Amanda James Gallery! Our last day at 412 East Ocean Ave. Boynton Beach, FL 33435 will be May the 19th. We will pack up and be in our new location June 1st. We love Boynton Beach and look forward to watching all the growth and development!  We have been so fortunate that designer Henry Johnson of Johnson/Berman (my Dad) flew in last month to help us with colors and a floor plan! My father is an amazing interior designer and if you’re interested in his work you can take a look on his site here: johnsonberman.com

James will be doing his custom framing in our new location. We are so happy to have more space! I will have my design studio there as well as some really luscious creations. Stay tuned.

I will continue to work in my Artists Alley Amanda Johnson Studio location and will be open for First Friday Art walk in November.

For all my linen dress lovers I have put several of them on line: https://www.amandajohnsonstudio.com/dresses

I will be updating with more designs soon.
